At the top of the homepage is a screenshot of a shirtless man and a busty woman in a bikini top embracing in waist-deep water and staring into each other’s eyes with the phrase “Create your fantasy” underneath. The website is called IMVU, a realistic Sims-like game and social networking virtual world purported to be for kids ages 13 and up.But as activity in the app slowed, Secret co-founders David Byttow and Chrys Bader were working on the second version of the service — and it might be the thing that brings Secret back to life.Secret 2.0 for i Phone and Android is a faster, more text-based version of the service that puts a new emphasis on chat.Built into the software is a 3D modeling tool based on simple geometric shapes, that allows residents to build virtual objects. There is also a procedural scripting language, Linden Scripting Language, which can be used to add interactivity to objects. Some examples of the different user’s rooms are the Flirt Café, the Quiz Room, and the Pool Area.In these public chat rooms, users can chat with many different users at the same time or just invite that special someone to a private chat.

Second Life also has its own virtual currency, the Linden Dollar, which is exchangeable with real world currency. When Secret launched in February, it quickly became the most talked-about new social network in Silicon Valley.Like other ‘"anonymish" social networks, it offers a compelling mix of sex, drugs, and intrigue.Second Life users (also called residents) create virtual representations of themselves, called avatars, and are able to interact with places, objects, and other avatars. They can explore the world (known as the grid), meet other residents, socialize, participate in individual and group activities, build, create, shop, and trade virtual property and services with one another.
